If any of you are in J-ville, NC, my husband is looking for a car. We prefer one for under $500 seeing as he only needs it for 4 months. Please contact me if you know of one available. Thanks so much

My husband is one of the 2500 to be recalled. He'll know at the end of January where he'll be stationed or deployed to. I'm calm but worried because we lucked out in him not getting deployed while he was in before. I know so many of you have made it thru this so I may ask for support and advice and such. Thanks a bunch. God Bless and Merry Christmas

Hello everyone,
My cousin, Cpl. Kelly Williams, just got back from Iraq with the Marines, but her husband and a bunch of close friends are still out there. For Christmas, my cousin Emily and I are making stockings for the 22 members of her platoon.
Here are some of the things we plan to include:
* Cookies
* Candy
* Hand-painted miniature picture frames
* Books and puzzles (Sudoku, Mad Libs, joke books, word searches, etc)
* Stationery and supplies to write home
* Individualized letters from 3rd graders
* Sanitary products
* And a bunch of other miscellaneous toys and games to help pass the time
* Holiday movies, such as The Santa Clause, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, A Charlie Brown Christmas, A Christmas Story, etc.

However, it has taken much more money than we anticipated and my funds are just about out. I really don't want to abandon the idea, so I am hoping that anyone who reads this may have a few extra dollars. It doesn't have to be much, but anything, even $1, would help!

If you can't, I completely understand. But if you can spare a little extra let me know!
You can e-mail me at nennerfree@aol.com with any questions.
I also have a Paypal account set up if you would prefer to do it that way. I think all you need is my e-mail address, which again, is nennerfree@aol.com

Thank you in advance to any who can help!

Sincerely,
Jenna Porter

Hi, my name is RoxAnne, and I am a senior in high school. One of my last projects for English Class is to interview a service man or woman. One of my best friends is entering hte Marine Corps as a Communication Specialist, and I decided that I wanted to interview a Marine.

I was wondering if someone on this group could help me out. I need to be able to email a list of questions and have them returned today (it's due tomorrow; she just gave us the assignment today). A stipulation is that I get your real name and rank within the Corps.

It is just basic questions about the Corp and what you do, what you enjoy, and why you joined.

If anyone can help me, please email me at wampyreroxanne@yahoo.com

Thank you very much!

I'm selling shoes on Ebay-they are black and Size 8. You know you want them! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3975461128

For all of you who can, please try to help me out by signing up for the following link and by COMPLETING and offer-there are ones that are for free so please help. If I win this Ipod, I will sell it on Ebay so we have some extra money to move with. So it'll be going towards a good cause-we're moving from NC to TN at the end of August when my hubby gets out of the Marines and need major cash saved up. Please help. http://www.freemacgifts.com/?r=2593

AND if you can help-all proceeds for this one go to NC Brain Tumor research. This site goes to my friend Josh's page(he's a Marine in J-ville too). The money does not go to him. So help if you can! http://www.active.com/donations/fundraise_public.cfm?key=getts
» The Final Inspection
The soldier stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining,
Just as brightly as his brass.

"Step forward now, you soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"

The soldier squared his shoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't.
Because those of us who carry guns,
Can't always be a saint.

I've had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was tough.
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.

But, I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep...
Though I worked a lot of overtime,
When the bills got just too steep.

And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God, forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.

I know I don't deserve a place,
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around,
Except to calm their fears.

If you've a place for me here, Lord,
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."

There was a silence all around the throne,
Where the saints had often trod.
As the soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.

"Step forward now, you soldier,
You've borne your burdens well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."

Remember, it is the Soldier, not the reporter Who has given us the freedom of the press. It is the Soldier, not the poet, Who has given us the freedom of speech.

It is the Soldier Who salutes the flag, Who serves beneath the flag, and Whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag.

Please pass this on and pray for our men and women currently serving our country and pray for those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for freedom.
